Sauerkraut and Bratwurst

1 lb of bratwurst sausages
2 tablespoons of butter
2 medium onions, finally chopped
1/2 lb of bacon,chopped
1 apple peeled and grated
1 teaspoon caraway
1 lb prepared sauerkraut
Salt and pepper, to taste

Heat the butter in a frying pan. Prick the sausages with a fork ,add to the pan with the onion and bacon. Fry until sausages are lightly brown.
Transfer onions and bacon into a bowl and mix through the grated apple ,caraway ,and sauerkraut. Season to taste. Pour half the mixture on the bottom, add sausages, and top with the rest of the mixture. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours.
