Ham Lentil Soup

1 1/2 – 2 c of cooked ham, diced
2 c of lentils, soaked the night before
1c of celery, chopped
1c of onion, chopped
1 c of carrots, sliced
4 cloves of garlic, minced (I use more)
1 t dried basil
1/2 t dried thyme
1/2 t black pepper
1 t crushed red pepper, optional
2 bay leaves (remove before serving)
32 oz of beef or chicken broth
2 c of water
1/2 c tomato sauce

Don’t forget to soak beans the night before.Dump everything in slow cooker.Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4 hours.
